Pass it on – Bluffton Cash Mobs are back - on Thursday.
 
This month's Cash Mob host (Thursday, April 21) is Town and Country Flowers, 121 S. Main St., Bluffton, with cash mob hours from 3:30-5:30 p.m.
 
During cash mob hours the store will offer 40 percent off one item purchased, according to Connie Kruse.
 
In addition, anyone attending the Cash Mob may sign up for a $50 shopping spree at the store.

It was contract night on April 18 for the Bluffton school board as many contracts for this spring and for next school year were approved.

Action involved:

• Seventeen certified contracts for 2016-17
• Four classified contracts for 2016-17
• Twenty-nine supplemental contracts for 2016-17

Also, the board approved several Saturday school supervisors and classified employees.

Class fees and handbooks for elementary, middle and high school for 2016-17 were also approved.

It rained shoes this winter and early spring at Bluffton Family Recreation.

According to Joseph Beagle, BFR director, 215 bags of shoes were collected this year.

The shoes are now on their way to Florida. There they will be sent to persons in 25 underdeveloped countries where micro-enterprises use them for their businesses.

Beagle said that a special thanks goes to Sharon Calvelage from the Catholic Ladies Association, who assisted BFR in getting the shoes collected.

St. John's United Church of Christ, corner of College Avenue and Jackson Street,  will hold a beef and noodle dinner Friday, April 22, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.  

If you would like a meal to go and cannot pick it up, call the church office at 419-358-5641. Those meals will be delivered.

The Delphos Museum of Postal History hosts the 22nd annual Ohio Lincoln Highway League state meeting on Saturday, April 30, beginning at 10 a.m.  

The morning will include three presentations: Ron Bagley of Van Wert will give a history of George Marsh and the Marsh Foundation School.  Delphos residents Ed Ulrich and Steve Dorsten will give presentations on the history of Delphos and the Miami and Erie Canal, respectively.

Both Bluffton High School girls' and boys' track teams swept a tri-meet on April 19. Individual results are below.

The Bluffton Tree Commission will hold an Arbor Day celebration at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 30, at the village arboretum on Lake Street.

The celebration will include a tree planting in honor and remembrance of long-time commission member Phil Kingsley and a presentation by Girl Scout Troop #2007 of their newly created Guide to the Trees of the National Quarry Arboretum. 

The event is open to the public.

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Defiance College Yellow Jackets came to town to take on Bluffton University in an HCAC contest on Tuesday, April 19. The Beavers were able to complete the comeback in a 10-7 victory, marking the second time this year Bluffton was able to get the better of Defiance. The victory boosts the Beavers to 10-19 with a 5-11 record in the HCAC. With the loss, Defiance fell to 15-13 and a 8-8 in conference.
