LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Bluffton University softball team hit the road to face off against the Transylvania Pioneers in their first conference matchup of the year. Transylvania showed why they were the 2017 HCAC champions as they swept the Beavers on Saturday, 13-2 (5) and 9-6.

Learn how to make your own household cleaner and mix up one of your own in a make-and-take Natural Cleaning with Essential Oils workshop led by Emily Ulrey on April 12 at 6 p.m.

Registration is required by April 5, and there is an $8.00 supply fee (cash only, at the door) which includes a 16 oz. glass spray bottle and contents.

This workshop is for ages 18 and up.

A Special Storytime with Shirley Wagner will be held on May 3 at 6:30 p.m. for ages 4-10.  This Storytime will help children to learn about life and death in a sensitive, caring way, and help them to understand the feelings grief can cause. 

Please register for this program by Saturday, April 28.

Marathana Prothro, assistant professor of communication at Bluffton University, will present the Colloquium titled, “From ‘Meh’ to ‘Must Read’: An Insider’s Look at the Rebirth of the ‘The Witmarsum’” at 4 p.m. on Friday, April 13, in Stutzman Lecture Hall.

Prothro is in her third year of teaching at Bluffton and serves as the faculty adviser to “The Witmarsum,” the student-driven media outlet at Bluffton University.

Friday, April 20, public may view the "before renovations begins"

The Board of Et Cetera Shop, Inc., invites the public to an open house at the Peerless Glove Factory, 327 N. Main St., Bluffton, on Friday, April 20, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. 

"Come and get a look at the old glove factory before it becomes the new location of the local Et Cetera Shop," said Arman Habegger, Et Cetera board chair.

"Renovation will not yet have begun, but we will have some illustrations of how the new store may appear.  Some of you may have photos from the building’s earlier operation as a glove factory, and we would welcome seeing those."

“Life’s all about balance.”

We all know this to be true. The hard part is achieving it, right?

Whether that’s our physical balance (how steady are we on our feet?) or our “life” balance (how well are we doing at managing our time?), we sometimes feel like a prisoner to our current situation.

Let’s be honest, the physical balance piece may be the “easier” one to work on. We need balance for so many of the things we do every day (getting dressed, getting in and out of the car, etc.). 

Birchaven Village will host “Talk About It Tuesdays,” an educational series for active seniors. The presentations will be held from 2 to 3:30 p.m. in the Hatfield Dining Room at Birchaven Village, 15100 Birchaven Lane, Findlay. Event dates and topics include:
