We invited Icon viewers to guess the location of this Bluffton photo. Every once in a while we need to toss in a difficult photo - and by the entries submitted, this was a stumper.

The correct answer is not:
• Bluffton Community Swimming Pool (many contestants thought it was)
• nor is it found at the Bluffton elementary school

Both were great guessed and make sense. However, this image is in one of the Bluffton Hospital OR rooms.

“Pastors are a great source of support and comfort for our elders."

Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio (MHCO) hosted its annual Pastor Appreciation Luncheon at Maple Crest Senior Living Village on Oct. 18.

Elders invited their pastors and sat with them for the meal.  In all, 23 pastors attended, and the Patio Room at Maple Crest was at capacity.

According to Chris Moser, director of resource development and church relations, the purpose of the luncheon was to honor pastors for their dedication to MHCO elders and their families. “Pastors are a great source of support and comfort for our elders,” Moser said.

Senior Doniven Clark (Toledo Bowsher) has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Football Player of the Week on defense after leading Bluffton to a 13-0 shutout at Anderson.

He is the second Beaver to earn HCAC Player of the Week honors following Adam Duncan who was the Special Teams Player of the Week following his 13 points scored at Trine.

A story for Halloween

This is a story told to me by my grandfather, Fred Hahn, who lived at 215 W. Elm St., Bluffton. As an adult, while cleaning out a box of family letters and photos, bits and pieces of the story again surfaced. This story happened 100 years ago this winter.

By Fred Steiner
One night in early December 1918, Fred Hahn dreamed that his brother, Harry, a railroad brakeman, tried to call him – but couldn’t make contact. The dream captivated Fred for the rest of his life.

M FAITH H - The Icon spotted this Hancock County plate in Bluffton. It's on a dark red Buick.

Here's a Bluffton Kindergarten photo with (Miss) Margaret Groman as the teacher. We recognize some familiar faces.
