BLUFFTON - Visiting Lincolnview swept Bluffton in three close sets in a Northwest Conference volleyball match Tuesday night.
The 25-20, 25-22, 25-23 loss dropped the Lady Pirate record to 10-6 overall and 3-2 in NWC play. Lincolnview stayed unbeaten in the NWC at 4-0 and improved to 12-2 overall with the victory.
Taylor Schwab topped the Pirates with 14 kills and 13 digs, while Kylie Stackhouse added a dozen kills and two blocks.

BLUFFTON - Host Bluffton shut out Tiffin Columbian 4-0 in a girls soccer match Tuesday evening.
The Lady Pirates improved to 7-3-1 overall with the victory.
Reagan Mittendorf started the scoring with a goal in the 20th minute as the Pirates took a 1-0 lead in halftime.
Becca Hoff made it 2-0 with a score in the 59th minute. Sophia Smucker extended the lead to 3-0 by hitting the back of the net in the 63rd minute. Lauren Rhodes provided the final margin of victory three minutes later with the fourth goal.

ADA - Visiting Bluffton blanked Ada 3-0 in a battle between Northwest Conference boys soccer co-leaders Tuesday evening at the park pitch.
The loss snapped Ada's seven-match win streak and dropped their record to 7-3-1 overall and 3-1 in the NWC. Bluffton improved to 10-1-1 and 4-0 in the NWC with their 24th consecutive league win.
The game was scoreless through a defensive first half.
Kaden Basil finally broke the ice on a goal five minutes into the second half to give Bluffton a 1-0 lead.
A new 50-page Explore Bluffton visitor guide is underway with an ad sales deadline of Tuesday, Oct. 15, according to Paula Scott, Bluffton chamber CEO.

Bluffton Public Library hosts the ONU Healthwise Mobile Health Clinic from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., Friday, Sept. 27.
The clinic offers free screenings for blood pressure, osteoporosis, and blood sugar and cholesterol, but note, you must fast from 12 hours to do blood sugar and cholesterol screenings.
The mobile clinic bus will be parked outside the library on Main Street.
The Bluffton University men's soccer team sliced through Blackburn College to the tune of a 7-0 shutout on Friday, Sept. 20. Blackburn slipped to 1-4-1 on the season, while Bluffton improved to 4-3, its most victories since 2014.
Dalton Taynor (Troy/Miami East) found Christian Zapata (Livonia, MI/Adlai E. Stevenson) just nine minutes into the match as Bluffton scored early and often Friday evening. Taynor and Patrick Spillman (Anderson, IN/Frankton) hit paydirt later in the opening stanza as the visiting Beavers opened a 3-0 lead at the break.

High school students are invited to compete for $6,000 in scholarships and prizes during the Bluffton University Business Competition on Tuesday, Oct. 22.
During the 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m. event, students will interact with business majors and professors, explore future career paths in business and hear from Ohio Auditor of State Keith Faber, who is serving as the keynote speaker. During the competition portion of the day, students will respond to a business case that will encourage them to think of the many aspects of contemporary business issues.
