Valentine’s Day is just around the corner.

The Bluffton Senior Center has 1-pound boxes of fudge in three delicious flavors that any valentine would appreciate. Chocolate walnut, Kentucky bourbon butter walnut and Chocolate mint julep with Kentucky bourbon for only $18.50 a box.

Hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) announced the results of the Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track and Field preseason poll, with Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology taking first in both the men’s and women’s polls in a vote amongst league coaches. 

On the men’s side, Rose-Hulman captured the first place slot with a commanding 100 points. Hanover College finished in second with 85 points. Manchester University placed in third with 76 points, while Earlham College and Franklin College finished in a tie for fourth with 57 points apiece to round out the top-five. 

Bluffton schools will have a two-hour delay tomorrow morning, Tuesday, Feb. 2. The announcement was made on Ohio Alerts at 8:07 p.m. on Feb. 1

Bluffton Soccer Club spring online registration now open

The Bluffton Soccer Club is taking registrations for the 2021 spring soccer season, according to Dan Lee.

Music streaming

How do you listen to your music?
  • Do you have a large stack of CDs?
  • How about a crate of old records?
  • Maybe you even have a dusty collection of 8-tracks or an iPod full of mp3 files.

These are what you probably think of when you want to listen to music, however, one of the fastest growing formats for music is streaming.

Streaming is the use of a computer, cell phone, or other technology to have music (or other media, such as movies) delivered to your device.

Bluffton's next American Red Cross blood drive is this week. First Mennonite Church is the sponsor of this drive.

The drive is from noon to 6 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 4, in the Youth for Christ building, 111 W. College Ave., across from Bluffton High School. For an appointment call 1-800-733-2767 or go to RedCrossBlood.org and enter youthforchrist.
 

Greg Denecker, Bluffton superintendent, announced that a grief crisis team will be available at the Bluffton Middle School when students return to classes.

The team will be available to meet with students in relation to the death of their classmate, Ethan Leiber, sixth grader who died in a snowmobile accident on Sunday.

200 tickets available at $10 each for Feb. 16 event downtown

Bluffton’s second annual downtown Chocolate Walk will take place from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 16. Nine Bluffton merchants are selling tickets in advance and providing wrapped, individually portioned chocolate treats.

Tickets are $10 each and a maximum of 200 tickets will be sold. The full ticket price will be donated to the Bluffton Community Assistance Program and Bluffton nonprofits supported by the United Way of Greater Lima.

For the health and safety of all, masks are required and guests are reminded to always follow store capacity guidance.

12-year-old Bluffton sixth grader was a member of student council

Bluffton Ethan Scott Leiber, 12, died Sunday, Jan. 31, 2021, at Lima Memorial Health System Emergency Room as a result of a tragic snowmobile accident.

Ethan was born July 8, 2008, in Lima to Scott and Angela (Yeagle) Leiber, who both survive in Bluffton.
