Blogging at www.BlufftonForever.com, Fred Steiner reminds us that March weather is unpredictable. In this post, he takes us back to a snowy school day in the early 1980s.

Thursday, March 8, 1984, was not a typical school day for students in the Bluffton school system. Students on that day experienced something never before or since has taken place.
Students arrived safely at school in the morning, but the morning’s snow storm made it a risk to take students home.
At 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30, Vicar Joseph Neuberger from Immanuel Lutheran Church, Findlay, will be the guest pastor at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 301 North Main Street, Jenera.
The special Lenten Service will have as the theme: "What to Do when Seized with Remorse" based on Matthew 27:3, 4. The Psalm for the service is Psalm 130 and the hymns are: "There is a Fountain Filled with Blood," Stricken, Smitten and Afflicted," and "My Faith Looks Up to Thee."
On a wet, chilly March day, the bike rack at Bluffton High School is doing a brisk business. Superintendent Greg Denecker reported at the March Board of Education meeting that a second rack will be installed.

The Bluffton Schools provided the following video as a livestream of the March 25 Music Boosters Chicken Barbecue event, which includes performances by students in the elementary, middle, and high school.
The video is 3 hours and 39 minutes. At the time of this posting, there were 690 views of the event.
Before building the nice field out at Village Park, the baseball teams for Bluffton High School played at the southeast corner of Harmon Field, near the railroad tracks. It also served for softball games. This was after Triplett Corporation used to sponsor excellent baseball teams. When they played, the diamond was in front of the stadium. I used to go to their games. They had talented players who were out of school. The games were highly competitive.
Two local issues are on Bluffton ballots for the May 3 election: an income tax renewal for the Bluffton Exempted Village School District and a liquor sales option in Precinct B for the 1861 Wine Lounge to be located at 115 N. Main St., Bluffton.
The Allen County Board of Elections has posted sample ballots for the May 3 election on its website; however, voter district information for Ohio House, Ohio Senate, and State Central Committee is not expected until March 28.

Hospice volunteers are an essential part of the hospice philosophy, which is comfort and dignity. Hospice clinicians and volunteers work together to offer a holistic approach in caring for patients and their loved ones, meeting the medical needs, while also providing emotional, spiritual and social support. Hospice volunteers help provide patients and families with compassionate care during their end-of-life journey.
