SEPT 22 MEDIA RELEASE__The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce is inviting the community to a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house marking the relocation of Fortman Insurance in Bluffton.

This celebratory event is scheduled for September 26, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at 111 N. Main Street, Bluffton.

This event will offer community members the opportunity to meet the Fortman Insurance team, explore the new office facilities and enjoy light refreshments. Staff will be on hand to answer any questions about their diverse insurance services and the advantages of partnering with a locally committed, customer-focused agency.

New American Sign Language storytime at Bluffton Public Library

VAN WERT__The Bluffton High School cross country teams competed in the Ohio Health Van Wert Hospital Invitational meet Saturday at the County Reservoir course.

BOYS RESULTS
Crestview won the boys team title with just 33 points, well ahead of second-place Van Wert (100).  

The Pirate boys came in 11th place (343 points) out of 15 teams.

Freshman Atticus Prothro paced Bluffton with a 48th-place finish (18:36.7).

MEDIA RELEASE__Trinity Lutheran Church is hosting a Chili Cook Off on Saturday, September 27 at Trinity Lutheran School, 105 Allen Street, Jenera. Please join us for some delicious chili! 

Tasting begins at 5:00 p.m. You can taste test each participant's special recipe and vote for your favorite. If you wish to enter your own chili, please bring 4-6 quarts of chili to be judged. In addition to chili, there will be hot dogs to eat.  

Also scheduled is a Cornhole Tournament for participants 8th grade and older.

SEPT 19 MEDIA RELEASE__The Bluffton community’s 20th annual Fall Festival, with many family-oriented activities, takes place on Saturday, September 27, with most activities occurring between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. 

Activity locations include downtown Bluffton shops, Maple Crest Senior Living Village, Schumacher Homestead (Swiss Community Historical Society), Bluffton Farmer’s Market, the Gazebo at Bluffton Presbyterian Church, Bluffton Middle & High School Gymnasium, Bluffton Library, Bluffton University (at corner of Spring and College) and Vine Street.

OTTAWA HILLS__The Bluffton High School boys soccer team lost a 2-0 battle at perennial power Ottawa Hills on Saturday morning, September 20.

Bluffton fell to 2-7-3 with the non-league defeat. Ottawa Hills improved to 5-5-1 after the win.

Ottawa Hills took the lead in the 10th minute on a Pirate own goal. 

In the 25th minute, Green Bear Maddox Robson tallied a goal to double the lead to 2-0.

Neither team was able to score over the final 55 minutes.

The Pirates won the junior varsity match over OH, 4-0.
