The #7 Pandora-Gilboa Rockets (9-4) playoff run came to an end Friday night, November 14, following their Division VII Region 26 Regional Semi-Final match-up against rival #3 Leipsic, 36-28. Too many costly penalties, missed opportunities, and two turnovers proved to be the difference in the rematch. In week 4, Leipsic (11-1) beat P-G 12-7.
MEDIA RELEASE__Pandora-Gilboa Local Schools has unveiled a new Veterans Wall display in the main hallway to honor graduates from all branches of the U. S. military. The project, designed by Superintendent Dr. Jeff Wise, recognizes the service and sacrifice of former students who have served their country.
The idea for the display was inspired by local veteran Larry McCullough Sr., who shared with Dr. Wise that he had seen a similar wall at another school. Moved by the suggestion and the opportunity to pay tribute to the district’s veterans, Dr. Wise brought the idea to life at Pandora-Gilboa.
“I’ve always had deep respect for the men and women who have sacrificed so much for all Americans,” said Dr. Wise. “This wall is a small way for our school community to express our gratitude and ensure that our graduates’ service is remembered.”
NOV 14 MEDIA RELEASE__Bluffton University, in partnership with the Blanchard River Watershed Partnership (BRWP), has received an Enbridge Watershed Grant from the Western Reserve Land Conservancy to establish a one-acre native prairie along Little Riley Creek beside the Sommer Center. The nearly $2,500 grant will support the planting of native grasses and wildflowers, which will not only improve water quality and reduce runoff but also enhance habitat diversity, creating a vibrant, living classroom right on campus.

Governor Jim Tressel was not only ready, when he appeared at the Ada Schools on Thursday, November 13 to promote the Governor's Healthy Ohio Team Tressel Fitness Challenge, he was determined to turn up the volume.

"We currently have 30 family units left to be adopted out (55 total so far this year)."

The November 10 regular meeting of Bluffton Council was one of the final sessions for outgoing members of council Jerry Cupples, Mitch Kingsley and Dave Steiner. In gallery seating were incoming council members Tom Downey and Liz Gordon-Hancock. Who will fill the remaining seat that opens on January 1? After consulting with Village legal counsel, it was decided that action needs to wait until the new year.
