FROM BPL UPDATE__Join Hannah Warwick on Tuesday, May 12 at 6:00 p.m. at the Bluffton Public Library to learn the process of creating a May Flowers painting in acrylic. 

Cost is $10 (cash only). Register in person or online as space is limited. Open to adults, and teens and children with an accompanying adult. 

FROM BSC HAPPENINGS__The computer and phone class with Mr. Morris and his Tech Students will continue on May 12 at 3:30 p.m. at the Bluffton Senior Center. 

This one-on-one class is a great way to learn how to use the tech you already own. Class will last one hour. No registration required.

May Day celebrations return to Bluffton University

Bluffton plays at #2 Swanton on May 13

BLUFFTON __The Bluffton High School softball team was seeded seventh in the tough eight-team Northwest 2 Div. The sectional drawing was held on Sunday.

The Pirate girls (7-9) will play at second seed Swanton (19-2) on Wednesday, May 13 at 5 p.m.

The winner will advance to face the survivor between third seed Paulding (9-4) and fifth seed Delta (3-9) on Tuesday, May 19 at 4:30 p.m. in Napoleon.

The April 23 Art Walk in Bluffton--an event promoted by the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce--encouraged visitors to explore local businesses with the added attraction of pop-up displays and sales by local artists.

On the beautiful spring day, Miriam Falke displayed her work in a variety of mediums in front of Kira's Flipside Grill. Another artful entrepreneur, Kirstene D. Adkins, of Art Me Party!, painted faces and introduced passersby at Shirley's Gourmet Popcorn Co. to her rhyming children's book Oodles.

FROM BPL UPDATE__Get ready to have fun reading and listening to great books and more at Bluffton Public Library events this summer.

The library staff are working hard to fill the calendar (and the prize shelves!) with something for every age, and will be in schools during the month of May. 

A presentation for homeschoolers all about the “Unearth a story” Summer Read is available for all ages and will be held at the library on Friday, May 15 at 12:00 p.m. 

Early Registration starts on May 11 at the front desk of the library.
 

FROM BPL UPDATE__Noon & 2:00 Book Discussions (R) will meet Wed., May 6 at Noon and at 2:00 p.m. to discuss Happiness Falls by Angie Kim. On Wed., June 3, at Noon and at 2:00 p.m., the groups will discuss Remember: the science of memory and the art of forgetting by Lisa Genova. Stop by the library front desk to register for your preferred time, check out the book, and to receive email updates! 

FROM BSC HAPPENINGS__Bluffton Senior Center will hold it’s monthly dinner meeting on Monday, May 11 at 6:00 p.m. 

Pandora’s Lunch Box will cater the meal of meat loaf, mashed potatoes, cooked carrots, dinner roll and cheese cake.

Cost is $12 and reservations must be made by Wed May 6.

Ron Epp and Louise Matthews will lead a hymn sing. 

MAY 1 MEDIA RELEASE__A team of teachers from the Bluffton Exempted Village Schools and representing Northwest OHSAA District was a top school in the most recent Health Action Council Step It Up Challenge. 

The team of eleven participants logged 566,835 average total steps. Team members included Jaime Combs, Heidi Steiner, Julie Garmatter, Nicole Anderson, Brandie Bogart, Ryan Dunlap, Lauren Huelsman, Rachel Skilliter, Robin Ault, Emily Ellerbrock and Joanna Gratz.
