MEDIA RELEASE__Bluffton High School proudly recognizes Elizabeth (Ellie) Hartzler as the February 2026 Student of the Month. Ellie is a senior with a 4.00 GPA. She is the daughter of Greg and Laura Hartzler of Bluffton.

An accomplished student, Ellie has been deeply involved in the performing arts throughout her high school career. She is a four-year member of the BHS flag corps and has served as team captain for the past two years. Ellie also participates in band, choir, strings and show choir, demonstrating her passion for music across multiple ensembles.

The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce will host its monthly breakfast meeting on Friday, March 13, 2026. Lydia Mihalik, Director of the Ohio Department of Development, will provide the program. 

Mihalik is the Director of the Ohio Department of Development, a state agency committed to empowering communities to succeed by investing in the people, places, and businesses of Ohio. Prior to her appointment by Governor Mike DeWine in 2019, Director Mihalik served as the 55th Mayor of the City of Findlay. Director Mihalik will speak about why collaboration matters for Ohio’s future and offer a look at the department’s priorities for the coming year.

Area seniors are invited to take advantage of the upcoming Toenail Clinic scheduled for Tuesday, March 17, beginning at 9:30 a.m. by a nurse from Putnam Home Care and Hospice.

Appointments are required and may be made by calling the office at 419-358-8971 or by stopping by in person to schedule a time.

The cost for the clinic remains $10, payable at the time of the appointment.
 

Watercolor Workshop: Tulips (R)($) will be held Thursday, March 12 from 5:30 p.m. - 7:15 p.m. Local artist Jeanne Crumrine will teach on the lower level of the library. Walk away with your own watercolor piece of art, complete with mat. There is a $10 supply fee at the door (cash only please), and advance registration is required as space is limited. Open to adults, and teens and children with an accompanying adult.

The next Mobile Health Clinic will be held on Thursday, March 12 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. All services are provided by individuals with the Ohio Northern University Healthwise program. This clinic includes free screenings for blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol (please fast for 12 hours to participate in cholesterol or blood sugar screening), and flu vaccines. Participants may speak with ONU Healthwise students and staff about their results or concerns, and even receive referrals to area doctors.
