Letter to the Bluffton Icon:

I would like to thank my entire family especially my wife, Mandy, my parents, Larry and Barb and all my friends  for all of their prayers, support and words of encouragement during my recent medical issue. 

The words, cards and support have been both extremely appreciated and humbling to say the least.  A big thank you to my co-workers and “brothers” at the fire department for filling in for me when I was out on leave.

The BFR Coed Open (Over 18) Sand Volleyball league will play June 9-July 14, 2022 at Southgate Lanes, 9700 N. Dixie Hwy.

Team fee is $300.00.

Scoring

Rally scoring will be used.

There will be a point scored on every score of the ball.

Offense will score on a defensive miss or out of bounds hit.

The Bluffton High School track and field teams competed in the first day of the annual Northwest Conference championship meet at Crestview Thursday.

A few final events took place Thursday.  

The Bluffton boys stand second and the Lady Pirates are fourth after the short opening day of competition.

Pirate leapers Trey Boblitt and Wyatt Lovell took first and second in the boys high jump event.

Columbus Grove is first in both the boys and girls standings.

The BFR is coordinating a round-robin High School Sand Volleyball league that will play June 7-July 12. Team Fee is $300.00.

League play is at Southgate Lanes, 9700 N. Dixie Highway.

Naomi Judd contracted Hepatitis C as a nurse

The Country Song of the Year Grammy was awarded to Love Can Build a Bridge performed by the Judds in 1992. The song was released in 1990 as a farewell after Naomi Judd was diagnosed with a hepatitis C infection. Naomi attended California’s College of Marin to study nursing and became a registered nurse.
