Have you started creating a "To-do" list for 2022? The Icon recommends taking some time to make a "Done" list as well. Council member Joe Sehlhorst used his notes to compile the following recap for the Village of Bluffton:

Just a few of many accomplishments mentioned that we all can be proud of.

NOVEMBER 2021

This photo could easily be one of Bluffton’s top 10 mysterious locations. This doorway no longer exists and you have to be in your seventh, eighth or older decade to recognize its location. Karen S. Garmatter, 79, of Rawson entered into the presence of her heavenly Savior on December 29, 2021 at 6:13 p.m. at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay.  She was born August 6, 1942 in Bluffton, Ohio to the late Byron and Helen (Cook) Anderson.  On March 29, 1963 she married Marvin Garmatter and they have lived on the same farm all of their married life.

The Bluffton High School boys varsity team rolled to a 32-point halftime lead and crushed visiting Cory-Rawson 76-25 in the semifinals of the McDonald's Holiday basketball tournament Wednesday night, December 29.

Balanced Bluffton drained 11 three-pointers in posting the win. 

The Pirates will host Arlington (6-3) in the tournament finals Thursday at approximately 7 p.m.

Bluffton led C-R 20-7 after the opening stanza. They then poured it on with a 27-8 second period onslaught to build a commanding 47-15 intermission cushion.

The Bluffton University women's basketball team scored early and often in a 93-55 beatdown of Geneva College on Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2021. Bluffton improved to 5-4 on the season, while Geneva fell to 3-4. The 59 points Bluffton put up in the first half eclipsed the previous school mark of 57 set against Wilmington in 1995-96!
