On Friday, December 12, Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce Director Jim Enneking hosted his last early chamber breakfast emcee gig. Assistant Rene Gabriel will be promoted to director in January 2026. She in turn will be assisted by new hire Hannah Warwick.
NEW BREMEN–The visiting Bluffton High School girls basketball team lost 34-29 to New Bremen in a non-conference contest on Saturday, December 13.
The Pirate girls trailed 9-5 after the first quarter. Bluffton rallied within 17-16 at the half behind an 11-8 second stanza.
NB took the third period 8-7 to maintain a slim 25-23 edge heading to the final stanza. The Cardinals hung on to win the final period 9-6 and triumph by five.
OTTAWA–The Bluffton High School boys bowling team went on the road and nipped Ottawa-Glandorf by 21 pins in a tight dual match at Highland Lanes on Saturday, December 13. The Pirate girls team was short-handed and lost to O-G.
BOYS RESULTS
The Pirate boys won the overall match by a score of 2,904-2,883.
DELPHOS – The Bluffton High School boys basketball team opened its Northwest Conference season at Delphos Jefferson by losing a tight 39-38 encounter on Friday, December 12.
The game was close throughout, with the score tied 8-8 after the first period. Delphos pulled ahead 19-17 at intermission, and the Pirates trailed 33-30 after three periods.
Bluffton won the final period 8-6, but came up just short.
The Pirates dropped to 0-4 overall and 0-1 in NWC play after losing their first road game of the season.
NAPOLEON–The Bluffton High School girls and boys swim teams both finished eighth at the tough 17-team Napoleon Wildcat Invitational on Saturday, December 13.
Host Napoleon won the girls team title with 402 points. Ottawa-Glandorf took second with 371 points. The Pirate girls finished eighth with 153 points.
Bryan captured the boys team crown with 377 points. Lima Shawnee was a distant second with 274 points. The Bluffton boys also came in eighth with 169 points.
