The Bluffton Emergency Medical Service received special recognition at the October 24 Allen County Safe Community Awards. EMS Chief Noah Babcock accepted the award, which honored the organization for its adoption of antibiotic prophylaxis for open fractures. The award was presented at an annual awards luncheon hosted by Lima FOP Lodge #8 and the Lima-Allen County Safe Community Coalition.
The November 10 regular meeting of Bluffton Council was one of the final sessions for outgoing members of council Jerry Cupples, Mitch Kingsley and Dave Steiner. In gallery seating were incoming council members Tom Downey and Liz Gordon-Hancock. Who will fill the remaining seat that opens on January 1? After consulting with Village legal counsel, it was decided that action needs to wait until the new year.

FROM FACEBOOK__The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce has announced four dates--all Saturdays--for the Winter Farmers Market at the Bluffton Senior Center, 132 N. Main St. Hours for the winter market are 8:30 a.m.-noon.
Bluffton girls soccer standout Aubrey Burkholder was named to the Div. V All-Ohio team in voting recently conducted by the Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association.
Senior scoring ace Burkholder led the Pirates with 16 goals and 12 assists to total 44 points this past season. The Bluffton co-captain was previously named first team all-district in Div. V.
The Pirate girls finished 10-9-1 overall and won the 2025 Northwest Conference title at 6-0.
A total of 43 girls were named to the Div. V all-state squad.
