AUG 20 MEDIA RELEASE__The United Way of Greater Lima will hold the 2024 Campaign Awards Ceremony and the 9th Annual Day of Caring on Friday, September 5, 2025 at The Ohio State University Lima, Cook Hall Gymnasium, 4240 Campus Drive, Lima, 45804.

The breakfast event begins at 7:30 a.m. and kicks off the 2025 campaign with the theme "United then. United now. Every dollar raised here stays here.

The 2025 campaign goal is $1.8 million dollars. The total funds raised for the 2024 campaign will also be announced.

Bluffton Cars & Coffee will hold its monthly event on Saturday August 23 from 8:00-11:00 a.m. at 902 N. Main St. 

In addition to providing display space for car, vehicle and motorcycle enthusiasts, Twisted Whisk is back with coffee and donuts. Door prizes are provided by local businesses and there is a 50/50 drawing.

The Bluffton High School boys golf team defeated Parkway in a non-league dual match on Tuesday, August 19.

The Pirates defeated the Panthers 174-187 with a tightly-bunched effort.

Gibson Meyer earned match medalist status by firing a nine-hole round of 42.

Ethan Fifer was right behind him, carding a 43. Grady Coonfare shot a solid 44.

Coby Dailey rounded out the Pirate scorers with a round of 45.

The August garden club meeting on Thursday, August 21 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. is tour of Allen Co. Master Gardener Volunteer Gemma Kennedy's flower and vegetable gardens.

Bluffton hosts Spencerville on August 26

BLUFFTON__The Bluffton High School girls soccer team lost 4-0 to visiting power Wapakoneta in a non-league match to open the season at Steinmetz Field on Tuesday, August 19.

The Pirate girls start out 0-1, while Wapak improved to 2-0 with the victory.

Wapakoneta scored in the 18th and 21st minutes to seize a 2-0 lead at intermission. The Redskin girls tacked on goals in the 42nd and 53rd minutes to put the game out of reach.
