BLUFFTON__The Bluffton High School boys tennis team defeated visiting Bryan 4-1 in a match on Thursday, April 23.

The Pirates improved to 6-2-1 after the decisive win. They won all three singles matches in straight sets.

Bluffton senior Grady Coonfare handily dispatched Kai Dauber 6-1, 6-0 at first singles.  

Pirate senior Isaiah Kohli beat Nolan Franzdorf 7-6, 6-4 at second singles.

At third singles, Nick Lovett downed Brendan Roberts 6-3, 6-4.

Vitamin D insufficiency has become increasingly common among adolescents over the past decade. Vitamin D is an essential nutrient that supports bone growth and helps keep bones strong. Research has found that at least 17% of adolescents and 32% of young adults are deficient in vitamin D, putting them at risk for injury.

Carole A. Stechschulte, 83, passed away April 24, 2026, at 12:45 am, Mercy Health - St. Rita's Medical Center. Carole was born on November 2, 1942, in Bluffton to the late William and Katherine (Steegman) Parkins. In March of 1999, she married Thomas Stechschulte, who preceded her in death on May 18, 2025.

The Village of Bluffton Tree Commission will be hosting an Arbor Day tree planting on Saturday afternoon, April 25 at Shannon Cemetery on Jefferson near Vance St.  

The event will begin at 1:00 p.m.
