Father’s Day shouldn’t pass without a mention in the Icons. I’m sorry to say that Mother’s Day 2022 passed without note on our Bluffton site, while Ada received a shopping countdown. Indeed, gifts and meals are often how we lavish love on family members. In my own family, Mother’s Day has been squeezed in between countless soccer tournaments and graduations, while Father’s Day in June seems a bit more leisurely.

It’s a little-known fact that Bluffton, Ohio, is the home of the patented “ashless cigar.”

Why there’s no sign at the edge of town stating this fact is something I’ve never quite figured out. Perhaps it’s time to do something about it. So, here’s me doing something.

This cigar information is a long-held secret in my family, who happens to hold the patent.

Despite its big, scary-sounding name, molluscum contagiosum is a common and relatively harmless skin condition seen in many children. It comes in the form of bumps that range in size from a pinhead to a pencil eraser. The bumps are caused by a skin virus and appear as painless domes that are typically flesh-colored, although they may develop a white center and/or redness around the edges. The telltale sign of molluscum contagiosum is a small dimple (umbilication) on top and near the center. Although one bump may appear alone, they are often seen in clusters or scattered on different areas of the skin.
