"Backed up" is a term used to describe the state of constipation. Eggbound is a Northern British saying for constipation, while FarFromPoopin is a funny slang term to describe the condition. However, there is nothing funny about chronic constipation.

The Bluffton Community Pool wages and rates for 2026 were established at the March 9 regular meeting of Bluffton Council. Minimum guidelines for pool staff were established as follows:

A . Pool Manager $15.30 per hour

B. Assistant Manager $12.80 per hour

C. Lifeguards $11.30 per hour

D. Slide Attendant $11.00 per hour

Fees were also established for the 2026 season.

A. Daily Admission $4.00

B. Family Season Pass (2 adults/3 children)

FROM FACEBOOK__The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce is calling all artists and downtown Businesses! Bluffton’s Art Walk is happening Thursday, April 23 from 12–6  p.m. , and the chamber is looking for local artists to showcase their work and Main Street merchants who would like to host an artist in their shop for the day.

This event is a wonderful way to bring creativity, community, and foot traffic to downtown Bluffton. Visitors will stroll through participating businesses while enjoying artwork from talented local creators.

MEDIA RELEASE__Rev. Phil Yoder, lead pastor of First Mennonite Church in Bluffton, will present the Spiritual Life Week Forum, “Abiding in Alienation,” at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 24, in Yoder Recital Hall.

Yoder will explore how embracing experiences of alienation can help individuals and communities more fully welcome the stranger within spaces of belonging.

The Forum is free and open to the public.

 

MEDIA RELEASE__Bluffton University has named the students who will serve as President’s Ambassadors during the 2026-27 academic year. Selected students assist in recruiting prospective students, welcoming and greeting campus guests, and engaging alumni and donors.

President’s Ambassadors receive extensive training in networking, professional development, etiquette, conversational skills and interviewing, preparing them to represent the university at institutional and community events.

MEDIA RELEASE__Malissa Takacs, international college counselor and consultant, and Bluffton University Trustee, will present a Social Work Forum titled “Beyond the Major: How Social Work Principles Shape Us All” at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 17, in Yoder Recital Hall.

The Bluffton alum will discuss how social work values of service, justice and human dignity inform meaningful impact across diverse careers and vocational callings.

The Forum is free and open to the public.
