The SHANNON Service Club of Bluffton presented its 2014 Annual “Service to Humanity” Scholarship Awards at the Bluffton High School 34th Annual Awards Program on May 14. This year this organization was again able to give two $750 scholarships.

With the May 23 running of the 800m, Bluffton High School graduate Hannah Chappell-Dick became Eastern Mennonite University's first participant at a national track meet since 2010. Despite not qualifying for the finals in the event, she caps a very successful sophomore season with the race.

Trinity Lutheran School’s graduation will be held on Sunday, June 1, during the 10:30 a.m. service at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 301 North Main Street, Jenera.

Abby Heldman is the class speaker. The class members are: Sarah Elizabeth Curth, Abigail Elizabeth Heldman, Drew Michael Insley and Alissa Joy Rutherford.

For the millionth time this week, a Customer Care Center representative answered Citizens National Bank’s phone to help a customer. 

The journey began in 2002 when the bank opened its Operations Center and created a new department designed to specifically handle all incoming customer inquiries. There were only three branches at that time; Bluffton, Lima and Elida.

It’s ready, set, swim ... at the Bluffton Community Swimming Pool. Here’s the information you need to know about this summer’s pool.

The pool will be open Saturday and Sunday, May 31, and June 1, from 1 to 6 p.m. The pool will not be open Monday, June 2, since Bluffton schools are still in session. On Wednesday, June 3, the pool opens for the rest of the summer.

Hours
Monday-Friday, 1 to 8 p.m.
Saturday-Sunday, 1 to 6 p.m.

Rest breaks are every hour for 15 minutes. No one under 18 is permitted to swim during rest breaks.
