Get your costume ready. BFR Sports and Fitness, 215 Snider Road, Bluffton, will hold a family-oriented community Halloween party from 2-4 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 20, according to Maranda P. Miller of BFR.

"This is a family event and no scary costumes are allowed," said Miller.

The event will include crafts and games from 2 to 3 p.m. and a costume contest at 3 p.m.

Costume contest categories follow:
• Family/teen category
• Age group 0 to 3
• Age group 4 to 6
• Age group 7 to 10
• Age group 11 +

Arcadia defeated Van Buren 25-13, 25-7, 25-13

Match 2
Pandora-Gilboa defeated Riverdale 25-18, 25-9, 25-22

Arcadia plays Pandora-Gilboa  at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, at 3:30 p.m. at Bluffton University.

Bluffton High School girls' won their opening tournament soccer game at home on Oct. 15. Bluffton defeated Allen East 2-1.

Bluffton is now 8-6-3 overal.

Sarah Theisen scored early in the first half to put the pirates on the board. The Allen East Mustangs fired back with a goal by #9. The game continued as a back and forth battle throughout the remaining of the half.

William "Bill" Johnson, 65, of Forest, was born in Lima, Ohio, on Aug. 7, 1948, to Howard W. and Norma (Waltz) Johnson. He died at 12:15 p.m. on Oct. 15, 2013 at his residence. He married Jacquelynn "Jacki" Schey on Nov. 28, 1970, and she survives.

A graduate of Cory-Rawson High School in 1966, he was the first All-State Football player from the school, as well as an All-State baseball player. He attended The Ohio State University and played his freshman year on the baseball and football teams.

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University volleyball team gave everybody in the Sommer Center their money's worth in a grueling five-set Heartland Conference victory over Franklin College on Friday, Oct. 11, 2013. Homecoming weekend started with a bang as the Beavers improved to 10-13 overall and 2-1 in the HCAC. The Grizzlies proved worthy opposition while falling to 13-8 overall and 2-1 in the conference.
