At the bottom of the Icon home page, you'll find four "hoppers" with historical, obituaries, photos and videos posted on the Icon since it was established in 2009. The 2011 article The Charles Company - downtown Bluffton caught my eye today because it resembles current images of Black Friday frenzies.

Grant Gesler wins Bluffton Middle School spelling bee

This week 13 students competed in the 2025 Bluffton Middle School Spelling Bee. The event lasted nine rounds with students in grades 6-8 testing their ability to spell out loud for three judges and an audience of family members.

In 2025, the U.S. Treasury announced that it would no longer mint pennies. The cost of producing the U.S. penny increased to 3.69 cents per penny. Some Ohio businesses have begun rounding prices up or down to the nearest 5-cent increment. Will you be glad, sad or "meh" to see the penny go?

From AdaIcon.com: December 12 Christmas concert at Ada First UM Church

Ada First United Methodist Church is hosting a Christmas concert in partnership with the ONU chapel on Friday, December 12 at 7:00 p.m. 

The concert is open to the community. There's no cost, but organizers are asking for donations of non-perishable food items to benefit Beatitudes and the ONU Polar Cupboard. 

FROM BSC HAPPENINGS__On December 4, the Community Meal will be served by Ebenezer Church and on December 18, Bluffton Presbyterian Church will serve.

All meals are served at 6:00 p.m. and are free and open to the public.

A goodwill offering will be taken to help the local food pantry.
