WLIO Hometown Stations has reported that Kris Shoemaker of Bluffton pleaded guilty to federal child pornography charges in December. Shoemaker was arrested in Bluffton in May 2025 by the FBI. 

He is charged with one count each of distribution of child pornography and receipt of child pornography.

Did you know that 1 in 31 children in the United States is diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD)? That is nearly five times as many children compared to the early 2000s. With more children being diagnosed, there are also more medications being prescribed to help with the many symptoms of ASD. With all of these options, it is easy to become overwhelmed. To help, let’s look into some of the available medications and how they can help manage ASD symptoms.

No increase, still $22.00 per dog. All dogs 3 months and over must be licensed per Ohio Revised Code.

Beginning February 1 renewals will be $44.00. Be sure to come in or have mail postmarked by January  31.

OTTAWA__The Pirate swim teams swept a five-team home meet at the Putnam County YMCA in Ottawa on Thursday, January 29.

The Bluffton boys won with 92.5 points, while the Pirate girls finished first with 92. The Pirates won the combined meet easily over second-place Ada, 184.5-106.5.

The Ada girls scored 56 points to come in second, and the Ada boys also ended up second with 50.5 points.

Pirate senior ace Jenna Downey touched first in two races. Sophomore Kari Diller also captured two individual first-place finishes.
