Current 1 mill levy provides 26.5% of Bluffton Public Library annual revenue

The Bluffton Public Library has been a part of the Bluffton community since 1935. As Bluffton has grown, the library has grown with it - moving from the high school to Main St. in 1986 and expanding the building and services in 2004. While most know the history of the library, I’d like to take this opportunity to explain how the library exists today, in 2026.

Steve and Susie Stratton, owners of Stratton Greenhouses and roots by Strattons, were celebrated as the Bluffton Lions Club Citizens of the Year for 2025 at an April 21 dinner and reception at Bluffton Town Hall. 

Bluffton Lions emcee Brigette Hoff remarked, “Tonight, we gather to honor Steve and Susie Stratton, who have gone above and beyond in their selfless giving to our community. Many people serve with no promise of personal gain or recognition.

Thanks to a grassroots campaign spearheaded by Bryan Marshall, the tradition of a free Patriotic Pops musical celebration will resume in Ada on Sunday, June 28, at the Ada Schools.

Several Icon readers notified our editor that the home at 518 S. Main St was being demolished during the week of April 20.

Crews made short work of the older house, which changed hands twice in 2025. The 3-bedroom home had an appraised value of $153,800 in 2021.
