Through November, the glass case next to the circulation desk at the Bluffton Public Library will display historical Native American items of dress and everyday living from local resident Gary Wetherill.

The Bluffton Fire Department will hang lighted garlands on downtown Bluffton store fronts on Wednesday, November 10. Businesses should have garlands placed outside by 5:00 p.m that day.

Light pole garlands will be completed on Saturday, November 13.

Michael Kent Mathewson, age 64, of Marysville, died unexpectedly Thursday, November 4, 2021 at The Ohio State University Medical Center. Mike reported to work on Wednesday, November 3rd and returned home following a productive day, only to suffer from a massive brain aneurysm later in the evening. He died a few hours later as a result of his unknown health condition.

Bluffton University’s Chamber Ensembles will perform a fall concert at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 14 in Yoder Recital Hall.

Under the direction of Dr. Roy Couch, the Brass Ensemble will perform music transcribed from the 16th century by Giovanni Gabrieli and Orlando Gibbons, a brass version of “Abendlied” by Josef Rheinberger and arrangements of familiar folk songs.

The October student of the month at Bluffton High School is Trent Howard, son of Travis & Anna Howard of Pandora. Trent is a senior at Bluffton and has a 3.917 GPA. He is a member of the Bluffton High School band, in which he plays the trombone, and is on the football, wrestling, track and swim teams.

He has received an Academic letter three times for maintaining a 3.50 GPA or higher and is a 3-time Varsity B recipient in football and wrestling. Trent is a student helper in the high school office and also does volunteer work.
