FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Bluffton University baseball team wrapped up its trip to Florida on a high note, defeating Alvernia College, 7-2, on Friday, March 6. The Beavers head north to the frigid cold of Ohio at 4-4 while Alvernia dropped to 6-3 on the season.

Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 301 North Main Street, Jenera, will hold its fourth Lenten service on Wednesday, March 11, at 7 p.m. Pastor Al Schmitzer will speak on “One of you will Betray Me."

The choir will sing “Abba.” Abba is a word drawn from the everyday language of Palestine.  it is a personal form of “Father” and shows love and trust, according to Schmitzer.

Everyone is welcome to attend the service and a light supper which will be served from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

The Icon received this request from a Main Street business owner. We've also stepped into this "scat" or whatever you'd like to call it.

Would you be able to put something on the Icon regarding people walking their dogs and not cleaning up their messes?

Especially along Main Street businesses! We have had several issues since last fall with a dog(s) pooping on the sidewalks.

Not to provide too much detail but mess appears to come from a large dog. Today there were about six or seven large logs right in front of the double doors to our building.

Village officials have received several questions and concerns about sidewalks covered with snow. In an attempt to address the issue by educating the public before taking court action, the village has issued this notice:

FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Bluffton University baseball team fell in both games of a double dip on Thursday, Mar. 5 to the St John’s Johnnies. The Johnnies won game one, 10-0, and they scored five runs in the bottom of the ninth to win game number two, 14-13. The Beavers dropped to 3-4 on the year, while St John’s improved to 5-3.
