The Lenten season at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church begins on Ash Wednesday, February 18, with a service at 7 p.m. The first of six Wednesday evening services is titled “Anyone Who Sins is a Slave to Sin”, based on John 8:31-36. Pastor Jeff Bolwerk will deliver the message and the students in kindergarten through eighth grade will sing “Meditation for Lent." A soup supper will be served by the Ladies” Aid from 5:30-6:30 p.m. The church is handicapped accessible and all are welcome.

Bluffton University junior Manyil Dashe talks with Dr. Ross Kauffman, an assistant professor of public health, at her display about cancer prevention through diet in Bluffton’s Musselman Library. Dashe is among students in Jeanna Haggard’s nutrition education and communication class who, along with students in Heather Bruder’s personal training and exercise class, led activities at a nutrition and fitness fair on “Wellness Wednesday,” Feb. 11, in the library. Haggard and Bruder are assistant professors of food and nutrition and sport management, respectively.
