I grew up in a state north of Ohio where school began after Labor Day. So when the Icons start providing sports and school related items in early to mid-August it still gives me something of a jolt and I feel sorry for those who are thinking “Let me enjoy summer while it lasts!”

But I’m ready for some fall weather, the excitement of football weekends with Pirate and Beaver Homecomings on the horizon, and the renewed peace and quiet of my home office–at least on the Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays when my husband is teaching.

August 2025 Highlights from BlufftonIcon.com include some summer favorites–National Night Out and Bluffton History Day–as well as previews of fall attractions–BHS football and the Suter Corn Maze.
