The Bluffton University men's basketball team defeated the Grizzlies in Heartland Conference action, 88-76, with four players in double figures on Saturday, January 29, in Founders Hall. The Beavers improved to 14-5 overall and 7-5 in the HCAC with their Hall of Fame Day victory. The Grizzlies slipped to 7-12 overall and 5-7 in the HCAC.
Bluffton First United Methodist Church is holding its annual spaghetti dinner, a fundraiser for its Youth Department, on Wednesday, Feb. 23, from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall (church basement) at 116 Church St.
Tickets are available from now until Feb. 18 and can be purchased from any First UMC Middle or High School youth or in the church office (419-358-8921). Cost for the tickets is $7 each.
The P-G Music Boosters will hold a chicken barbecue dinner from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 4, in the P-G School Auditeria. Tickets are $6.50 per person. The menu includes barbecue chicken, au gratin potatoes, green beans, dinner roll and a beverage. Tickets are on sale from P-G music students.
The Village of Bluffton is seeking qualified candidates for the positions of assistant manager and lifeguards for the Bluffton Community Swimming Pool for the 2011 season, according to Jamie Mehaffie, village administrator.
"Qualified candidates for lifeguards must have or be in the process of obtaining CPR and lifeguard certifications," he said.
Applications can be obtained at the town hall, 154 N. Main St., Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m.
Completed applications are due on Friday, March 18, 2011.
