The powerful painkiller Oxycontin, widely blamed for kickstarting the nation’s opioid crisis, will no longer be newly prescribed for injured workers in the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation’s system starting July 1.
Following a recommendation from BWC Chief Medical Officer Terry Welsh, the agency’s Board of Directors voted today to drop the drug from the BWC formulary and replace it with what Welsh calls “an equally effective but harder-to-abuse drug” named Xtampza ER.
William Edgar Begg, 81 of Bluffton, died Feb. 26, 2019, at his residence, surrounded by his family.
Bill was born May 11, 1937, in Allen County to Edgar and Esther (Van Meter) Begg, who preceded him in death. On Nov. 2, 1958, he married Beverly (Jones) Begg, who survives him.
Bluffton Family Recreation's youth programming for Spring Session 1 starts Monday, March 4, according to Daniel Tinch, BFR director. The session runs to Friday, March 29.

As a team the Pirates finished fourth. Joining Nassar in Troy next week will be Kaden Basil, Josh Mehaffie, Tayton Kleman, Jeremy Sturgeon and Jackson Wilson. Landen Lugibihl, Dustin Mortimer and Elijah Conley all finished fifth and will be District alternates.

Sophomore Dezman Brown (Elyria) has been named the first-ever Heartland Conference Defensive Most Valuable Player and along with that Honorable Mention All-HCAC. Andrew Renner (Cairo/Bath) and Isaiah Taylor (Yellow Springs) were also honored by the Heartland Conference coaches.
