AUGUST 14 MEDIA RELEASE__Citizens Wealth Management Group (CWMG), 102 S. Main St., is raising awareness this month about the importance of keeping beneficiary designations up to date. To help individuals ensure their assets are protected and passed on according to their wishes, CWMG is offering free beneficiary reviews throughout the month of August.

Barbara R. Fett, 79, passed away August 14, 2025 at Mercy Health - St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. Barb was born January 7, 1946 in Allen County, Ohio to the late Francis and Madlyn (Isham) Marquart. She married Edwin Fett and they were divorced.

Services scheduled for Saturday, August 23

Nelson Koogler, 71, passed away August 13, 2025, at Mercy Health-St. Rita's Medical Center.

Nelson was born April 4, 1954 in Lima, Ohio, to James and Margaret (Hefner) Koogler who preceded him in death. On April 10, 1976 he married Sharon (Spallinger) Koogler who survives.

BLUFFTON__The Bluffton High School girls tennis team lost to visiting Western Buckeye League foe Bath 4-1 on Wednesday, August 13.

The defeat dropped the Bluffton record to 1-2 this season.

The second doubles duo of sophomores Leah Hoffman and Peighton Bowers brought home the lone Pirate win of the night. They improved their season record to 2-1 with an epic 7-6 (7-4), 2-6, 17-15 triumph.

AUGUST 11 MEDIA RELEASE — Megan Bowsher, MSW, LISW, clinical psychotherapist at Creative Hope Counseling in Bluffton, Ohio, will speak on the topic "Imperfect, Unfinished, and Brave: The Courage to Become Your Real Self" during Bluffton University's Opening Convocation at 10:45 a.m. on August 19 in Yoder Recital Hall.

AUGUST 14 MEDIA RELEASE__Dr. Alex Sider, president of Bluffton University, will present "Pillars of Purpose: Stability, Hope, Trust, Compassion" during Bluffton's State of the University Forum at 11:00 a.m. on Aug. 26 in Yoder Recital Hall.

Sider will reflect on strategic priorities for the university in the coming year, with a focus on maintaining momentum and mission in light of recent institutional transitions.

This Forum is free and open to the public. Forum at Bluffton University provides a public space for interdisciplinary discovery about the personal, local and global challenges faced by students, faculty, staff and the Bluffton community.
