Bluffton Exempted Village Schools announced its 2018-2019 program year policy for free and reduced-price meals for students unable to pay the full price of meals or milk served under the National School Lunch and School Breakfast, After School Care Snack or Special Milk Program.
Each school office and the central office has a copy of the policy, which may be reviewed by any interested party.
Elizabeth “Betty” Jeschke, 88, of Goshen, Ind., died June 27, 2018, at Goshen General Hospital. She was diagnosed with multiple myeloma six years previously.
Betty was born to Gordon and Margaret Claassen Bixel Nov. 27, 1929, in Bluffton, Ohio. She was a member of First Mennonite church in Bluffton and a graduated from Bluffton High School in 1947. She graduated from Bluffton College in 1951 and that same year married Oscar Miller of Berlin, Ohio.
That's a wallaby checking you out - wait - it's two wallabys! This Australia native stopped in Bluffton during Tommy Tire's customer appreciate event on Friday. There were lots of other interesting animals, free ice cream and a free A to Z truck lunch. More photos below.
Leave it to the elders at Maple Crest to show off their talent. They even put on a show on Friday. The lineup included several musicians performing solos and duets, actors, and others too talented to describe.

A support group for caregivers of spouses or family members with Alzheimer’s Disease or other forms of dementia is scheduled the third Monday of each month at 3:30 p.m. at Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton. The group meets in the library at the Home, located at 410 W. Elm Street.
Group facilitators are Tricia Herrmann, RN and Janet Schroeder, LSW. The focus of the group is to allow each member to discuss his/her issues involved in caring for their loved one with dementia. Speakers may be brought in to address specific topics at the request of the group.
