It's Tuesday, Aug. 1, at the swimming pool

The Bluffton Police Department, in conjunction with the Pandora Police Department, is once again in the planning stages for holding our 4th annual National Night Out celebration. 

This year’s event will be held on Tuesday August 1st, 2017.  The Bluffton, Beaverdam, and Pandora Fire and EMS Departments will also be participating in this event.   The Bluffton, Pandora, and Beaverdam communities are all invited to attend. 

This quilt is truly part of the downtown Bluffton scene. The quilt reflection in the window of Diller Flooring take on the appearance of buildings across the street. It's a Bluffton Scrap Artist Quilters quilt. It will be raffled to benefit the proposed Heritage Center of the Swiss Historical Society. Click here for more details.

Pedestrian-bike path project to enricle community has generated approximately $476,278 in donations, grants and gifts-in-kind from all sources

Icon viewers: This a progress report of the Bluffton Pedestrian and Bike Pathway board. It is an abridged version of the offical report created in May by Fred Steiner, member of the committee.

This is the story of one community’s efforts to construct a bicycle and pedestrian pathway that encircles that community, thus improving the quality of life of its residents.

This on-going project to date has generated approximately  $476,278 in donations, grants and gifts-in-kind from all sources.

Project was to start last week; new start date Monday

The bridge over Bentley Road at I-75 will close for four months for deck replacement starting Monday, June 5.

The project starting date was originally scheduled for last week, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation, District 1.

Photos at the bottom of this story demonstrate the work needed on the bridge deck.

The closure also affects the Bentley Road southbound entrance and exit ramps only. The northbound entrance and exit ramps remain open, but  traffic will not be permitted to turn west onto Bentley to enter Bluffton.

Swimming pool closes at 4 p.m. for swim meets

The Bluffton Community Swimming Pool will close at 4 p.m. on the following dates due to home swim meets:

• Thursday, June 15
• Thursday, June 22
• Monday, June 26

The men’s and women’s soccer teams at Bluffton University will host a Soccer Day Camp Monday, June 12-Thursday, June 15. The camp is open to girls and boys ages 5-13, with sessions taking place from 6-8 p.m. each evening.
