Applies to 2017-18 school year

The Bluffton Exempted Village School District is currently accepting applications from students interested in attending the school district through open enrollment for the 2017-2018 school year.

Students from any school district in Ohio may apply and enroll in Bluffton Schools tuition free.  Students are admitted on a full-time basis only.

Applications are approved annually on a first come, first served basis and approval is subject to grade level enrollment and educational programs.

Brandon Rhodes, Dropbox engineer, leads workshop

Do you use Dropbox to store documents, images and other files crucial to your business?

Bluffton Center for Entrepreneurs will hold a free workshop on Dropbox at 8:30 a.m., Friday, Feb. 10, following the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce breakfast. The workshop is in the third floor of the Bluffton town hall, 154 N. Main St.

Bluffton resident Brandon Rhodes, engineer at Dropbox, the industry-leading file collaboration service, will lead the workshop.

Liberty Benton girls' basketball team defeated Bluffton 67-23 on Feb. 7. The box score is attached.

Once upon a time in the Kingdom of Plantae there lived a crane flower - also known as Bird of Paradise. Whichever name you know this plant by,  a rather one grows in the Bluffton University greenhouse. The Icon found it in full bloom in February.

He attends both Bluffton University and the University of Findlay in post-secondary

January's Bluffton High School student of the month is Christopher Harnish, a junior.

Christopher is treasurer of the Junior class, and is a member of Show Choir, the Academic Team, Spanish Club, Math Club and Running Club.  He is also a member of the track team and the soccer team. He was named to the NWC second team for soccer this year.

He has received academic awards from his teachers in World History, Spanish I, Spanish III, Algebra II, Advanced Math, Science 9 and English 9.  

In his spare time he enjoys learning to play the guitar.

Closson is elementary principal; special meeting April 17

NOTE: Bluffton school board moved this month’s meeting from Feb. 20 to 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 8.

Bluffton school board is notifying the public through a resolution that Tim Closson, elementary principal, will retire and seek re-employment in the same position this spring.
