Bluffton High School's November student of the month is Patrick Rhonemus. He is the son of  Michael and Tenna Rhonemus of Bluffton. Patrick is a senior at BHS and has a 3.559 GPA.

He is a member of the Bluffton High School band participating in the marching, jazz, concert and pep band programs. He also shares his musical talents as a member of the show choir, chamber and concert choirs.

The Curling Iron's holiday window was voted first place in this year's Bluffton downtown retail holiday window contest. Voting were downtown businesses. Curling Iron, 129 N. Main St., receives this holiday window traveling trophy. Second place was Webb Insurance. Third place was Town and Country Flowers. Watch for those photos on the Icon.

The Icon invited Chris Leuthold, adjunct math instructor at Bluffton University, to provide The Icon with some math puzzles. 

We want to assist our viewers with ways to survive the long, dark winter nights. Chris rates the level of difficulty  in his quizzes from 1 to 4, with 4 being the toughest.

He rates quiz 3 as a "3".

James Howe Klingler, 86, died Dec. 8, 2015, at his residence. James was born May 18, 1929, in Hancock County, Ohio to the late John Henry and Marie (Pratt) Klingler.  On March 11, 1951, he married Donna June Gossard who preceded him in death Dec. 7, 2015.

For Icon viewers getting ready to bake for the holidays, you can't have a cookie plate without meringue kisses.

There's probably more recipes for this cookie than any other in Ohio. Here's one we picked from the Ada Sesquicentennial Cookbook, from 2002. This recipe is provided by Ruth Brown.

Ruth Brown's Meringue Kisses
4 egg whites
1 1/2 cup sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
Vanilla
Nuts
