I hope this happens to you some day. It happened to Mark Twain, I think. You know the story about Twain apparently seeing his obituary in the newspaper and then following up with his famous: "the reports of my death are greatly exaggerated."

In Sunday's Lima News Fred Steiner's name was listed under notable deaths. First, I pinched myself, then with keen interest, read Fred Steiner's notable obit.

On behalf of the Village of Bluffton, the Blufton Area Chamber of Commerce, and the American Legion, the S.H.A.N.N.O.N. (Sharing Hopes And Nourishing Needs Of Neighbors) Service Club of Bluffton gives a thank you for the the 2011 Main Street Flag Project.

Amy J. Leach has been named the director of marketing and public relations for Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS). She will lead and oversee the Health System's marketing and public relations efforts, including advertising, media relations, community awareness and internal communication.

Bluffton Presbyterian Church will have a barbecue chicken or pulled pork dinner on the church lawn Saturday, July 2, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Side dishes are cheesy potatoes, green beans and a roll. Tickets are $7 and may be purchased at the church office, Village Cut N Curl or the day of the dinner. Carry out or eat in.

The sesquicentennial parade is at 1 p.m. on Saturday.

What grade were you in when you moved to Bluffton?

I was in fourth. Mr. Kooker was my teacher. Before coming to Bluffton my family lived in Belgium Congo. I attended first, second and third grades there. I spoke English and a little Lingala dialect. I think the first person I remember in Bluffton was Miss Meredith Stepleton, the elementary principal.
