Sophia Smucker, a Bluffton High School junior, is the Icon artist of the month.
She says, "I have taken Art 1, Design 1, and Design 2. After high school I plan to go to Goshen college and extend my career from there.
"This project was one of my favorites as it was to turn someone into a flat painting. There is no editing; it is just a simple picture of my friend who let me paint her. She was walking art."
Vickie Garmon is the Bluffton High School art teacher.
Interstate 75 will be restricted to one lane in the following locations today, May 8, for guardrail and cable rail barrier repair. Work is being performed by the ODOT District 1 roadway services department.
• Interstate 75 southbound near McClain Road, south of Lima
• Interstate 75 northbound near Bentley Road, Bluffton
The Icon received over 50 entries in our "Write a caption for this photo" contest.
The photo was taken at the First National Bank's 100th anniversary celebration. In the photo are two former Bluffton mayors and the current mayor, from left, Fred Rodabaugh, Richard Johnson and Roger Edwards.
Mike Hight of Bluffton is the caption-writing winner with this entry: "You wouldn’t believe us if we told you."
Bluffton Boys & Girls 4-H/Cloverbuds group have had five meetings so far. Enrollment and projects have been entered.

Club service project was held on April 12 at Allen County Humane Society, where the group helped and brought donations.

By an overwhelming 80 percent plurality Bluffton school district voters approved the renewal of two levies on May 7.
And the school district voters joined other Allen County voters to approval a Regional Transit Authority levy. Below viewers will find voting by precincts in Bluffton, Beaverdam, Richland Township and the county.
