Bluffton police appended a suspect following a vehicle chase in the early morning hours of April 7. As a result, several pounds of suspected marijuana and other items associated with drug trafficking were discovered in the vehicle.
The suspect, who was not identified, was booked into the Allen County Justice Center. His case is pending. It is expected to go to a grand jury next month. Afterward, it will be handled in Allen County Common Pleas Court.
Ryan Burkholder, Bluffton police chief, provided the Icon with the follow account of the incident:
Interstate 75, just north of county Road 99, Findlay, will be stopped temporarily for short intervals during the morning hours of Thursday, April 11, for the installation of a cable line below the interstate.
Work will take place between 8 a.m. and noon, but Interstate 75 traffic is anticipated to be affected for only 15 minutes in each direction.
Law enforcement will provide traffic control. Work is being performed by Charter Communications.
The Bluffton University softball team had a nonconference doubleheader on Sunday, April 7 when it hosted Ohio Wesleyan. The Beavers got the best of OWU in game one, 10-4, before dropping the finale by an 8-6 count. Bluffton moved to 6-18 on the year, while Ohio Wesleyan improved to 7-17 overall.
