One week to go and school begins.

In the meantime, several events of interest take place this weekend in Bluffton.

Storytime at the Farmers’ Market
Bluffton Public Library moves its Saturday morning Storytime to the Bluffton Farmers’ Market.

Esther Birkey, youth services coordinator, will read books to youngsters from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Farmers’ market vendors are invited to read a book or two, also.

The Farmers’ Market is open from 8:30 a.m. to noon in the Citizens National Bank parking lot.

Leland Robert Garmatter, 82, died Aug. 21, 2015, at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay. 

Leland was born March 20, 1933 in Bluffton to Gideon and Mable (Burkholder) Garmatter who preceded him in death. On Oct. 31, 1959 he married Sandra Bassitt Garmatter who survives.

Leland retired from Lima Ford Engine Plant. He was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Bluffton. He was a graduate of Bluffton High School and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

First Mennonite Church will offer a five-week Sunday school class for college and university students, beginning Sept. 27, from 9:15-10:15 a.m.

Bluffton High School girls' golf team went to 3-1 after a one-stroke win over Elmwood. Alivia Konig was the medalist.
