"The Aug. 4 National Night Out was a huge success," Matt Oglesbee of the Bluffton Police Department, told the Icon. "But it didn't happen on its own. Many sponsors made donations.

Bluffton HIgh School girls' tennis team defeated Ottawa-Glandorf 3-2 and lost to Shawnee 3-2 in recent meets.

The Arlington Boy Scout Troop 318 will hold at hog roast from 4 to 7 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 22, in the Arlington Park.

Tickets are $8. Meals are for both take out or eat at the park. Meals include a dessert and drink in addition to the main course.

 

Members of the Bluffton Senior Citizens Association, under the direction of Deb Beer, recently completed new children's quilts for the children's area of the Bluffton Public Library.

The quilts will be displayed at the library in the coming months.

Greg's Pharmacy, 126 N. Main St., Bluffton, will host this month's Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce cash mob.

The event is from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 20. Greg's cash mob offers the following:

• Stretchable book covers regularly $1.99 are only 99 cents each (limit 3 per customer)
• All customers may register for a $50 shopping spree at Greg's. 

The monthly cash mobs are sponsored by the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce. The idea behind the cash mob is to promote shopping locally.
