Several news items concern Bluffton elementary families. Here's an update frrom the current elementary newsletter:

TESTING DAYS/CHANGES: Third grade students will take the Reading Ohio Achievement Assessment on April 21. New state “End of the year” exams will be given on April 27 in English/Language Arts for grades 4-5. Students in grades 3-5 will take Math End of Year (E.O.Y.) exams on April 28 and 29.

The invitation read: “Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio volunteers are like an assortment of ice cream flavors. You just make life happier for everyone!”

More than 140 volunteers responded to the invitation to the annual volunteer appreciation banquet held on April 8 at Ebenezer Mennonite Church.

While Bluffton experiences one daily short and slow round trip freight train every day - things are different in Ada.

Ada's rail traffic is now more frequent, with longer trains and traveling at higher speeds than residents are used to. A rebirth of the line through Ada for freight happened this winter.

Don R. Luginbuhl, 58 died April 9, 2015 at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay.  Arrangements are incomplete at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton.

Here's the Bluffton High School Hi-Y from 62 school years ago.

According to the Bluffton High School yearbook: Hi-Y is a group of sophomore, junior and senior boys joined together for good fellowship and to fulfll the Hi-Y purpose which is “To create, maintain and extend throughout the home, school and community, high standards of Christian Character.”

According to Nancy Kindle, village fiscal office, the village of Bluffton’s safety service committee will meet on Monday, April 13, at 7:30 p.m.
