Memo to Village of Bluffton utility users:

No more bills using the familiar yellow card system for Bluffton utility users.

Nancy Kindle, Bluffton village fiscal officer, informed the Icon that the village is switching utility bill formats. 

AN EXAMPLE OF THE NEW BILL IS IN AN ATTACHMENT AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS STORY.

“It was our intention to switch with the  current bill, however, with the water damage at town hall, the printer was ruined and we were not able to print the bills,” she said.

Meet perhaps the youngest participant in this year's Bluffton Memorial Day celebration. He's Lucas Blackburn, decked out in red, white and blue. Lucas is with his dad, Jesse. His mom, Amy, is not in the photo. The Icon found Lucas during the parade.

I am contributing a photo that was taken in October 1950. The location is the Richland Grange which was destroyed on April 11, 1965, during the Palm Sunday tornado. This was an Alpha Gamma event and "come as you are" was not an option.

The SHANNON Service Club of Bluffton presented its 2014 Annual “Service to Humanity” Scholarship Awards at the Bluffton High School 34th Annual Awards Program on May 14. This year this organization was again able to give two $750 scholarships.
