Bluffton Public Library’s second Holiday Gift Silent Auction begins Nov. 2 during an after-hours preview and will continue until Nov. 21. The library will be filled with more than 70 gift packages, with something for all interests, budgets and age levels.

Soybeans are still in some fields, and now corn is starting to be taken off. Here's a field on the Putnam-Allen County Line between Pandora and Bluffton.

Ada was once known for its clay tile company. Here's a post card showing the company. The wording, difficult to read states: 'ADA CLAY CO., ADA, O. DRAIN TILE SIZES 3 1/2 INCHES TO 24 INCHES.

The flip side reveals this was a Christmas and new year's greeting from the company. This particular card was mailed to a customer in Dola on Dec. 23, 1919.

BFR will be holding another Longest Loser competition beginning the week of Oct. 29, according to Carole Enneking, director. 

Cost is $10 non-member/ $5 BFR members. Each week you must lose at least .2 of a pound to stay in the competition. You must weigh in on the same day each week. You will be awarded one bye week if you remain the same or gain weight. Prize is a three-month membership to BFR.
