The Winter BFR sport and fitness session of youth and adult programs is beginning the week of Jan.7, according to Carole Enneking, BFR director.

Youth Programs

▪ basketball  -  grades K-3  on Thursdays, 3:30pm
▪ football - grades K-3 on Tuesdays, 3:30pm
▪ dodgeball - grades K-8  on Fridays, 3:30pm
▪ volleyball -  grades 3-7  on Wednesdays, 3:30pm
▪ swim lessons - infants to grade 4 on Thursday evenings at The Comfort Inn.
These classes meet weekly for seven weeks.

The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with Bluffton Center for Entrepreneurs, will hold a roundtable workshop for one-shop-do-it-all business owners and independent consultants for product lines.

The free workshop is at 8:45 a.m., Friday, Jan. 11, in the third floor of the Bluffton town hall.
The workshop follows the 7:30 a.m. January Bluffton chamber breakfast also held in the town hall.

The workshop will last about one hour.

The Shannon Theatre gave the Icon the heads up on the movies it has scheduled for Jan. 11 - 17.  According to Pete Suter, here's what's playing:

Parental Guidance (PG) - stars Billy Crystal, Bette Midler and Marisa Tomei.

Bradley Smith won this year's Icon football college bowl contest. Smith correctly picked 19 winners. Six contestants were one win behind the winner. The Icon will hold a Super Bowl contest coming coon.

Other contestants:

Jesse Henry, former Bluffton resident, will perform in concert at 7 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 13, in the Town Hall Concert Series. Henry will perform with Angela Perley. The concert is billed as a homecoming concert of acoustic original music, raising money and collecting instruments to teach music in Nairobi, Kenya.
