Peter Suter of Shannon Theatre announced that "Brave" (PG) will be shown at the theatre from July 6-12.

Show times follow:

2D - Each evening at 7 PM with Saturday and Sunday matinees at 1:30.

3D - Each evening at 9:30 PM with Saturday and Sunday matinees at 4 PM.

Premiering July 13 will be Ice Age - Continental Drift.

It's a weekend of music in Bluffton as Mennofolk comes to town. What is Mennofolk? It's three stages featuring acoustic music over two days, Friday and Saturday, July 6-7, plus some morning events on Sunday, July 8. It features an array of singer songwriters, ranging from American roots music to hymns.

Performances are in Yoder Recital Hall, Gilliom Room in Mosiman Hall and Bob's Place in Marbeck Center on the Bluffton University campus.

Gone with the wind

Perhaps the largest and oldest Buckeye tree in Bluffton, which shaded College Hall for the better part of a century, was lost in the June 29 severe wind storm. Click for a video and for a photo of the site taken in 1900.

AEP Ohio -- through our rebuilding efforts -- has restored
power to more than a half million customers affected by the catastrophic
storm that moved through the state June 29 and the additional 20,000 who lost power in the July 1 evening storm.

As of 9:30 a.m. today, approximately 516,000 of the customers left without power June 29 now have service.

On Friday afternoon, June 15th of this year the Bluffton Lions Club put on its annual car show the 45th Festival of Wheels and Cruise-in. We strive to make it a better show each year. It takes a lot of volunteers to make it a success.

Bluffton American Legion Post 382 held a cookout and installation ceremony of post officers at the Buckeye Park Shelteron June 18.
Forty persons attended, according to Dennis Morrison, PR officer.

Following the picnic the new officers were sworn in by 2nd District Commander Tom Faller from Post 387, Minster.
