Mennofolk: Music, music, music on three stages in Bluffton this weekend
It's a weekend of music in Bluffton as Mennofolk comes to town. What is Mennofolk? It's three stages featuring acoustic music over two days, Friday and Saturday, July 6-7, plus some morning events on Sunday, July 8. It features an array of singer songwriters, ranging from American roots music to hymns.
Performances are in Yoder Recital Hall, Gilliom Room in Mosiman Hall and Bob's Place in Marbeck Center on the Bluffton University campus.

Performances are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.-6 on Friday and Saturday. In addition, there are some other special events that stand alone.
Tickets for the musical performances are $15 for the entire weekend (kids 12 and under free). Tickets, food and camping are available at the door from Bluffton University. Registration is at Marbeck Center.
According to Wendy Chappell-Dick, organizer of the event, "This is more than a showcase of musicians. This event is a fundraiser for a higher cause. Mennofolk musicians have agreed to donate their services, and all profit will be used to heal various aspects of war. These include The Wounded Warrior Fund, The Iraqi Student Project, conscientious objector counseling and military recruitment counseling."
Some of the "other" events, not on one of the three stages takes place on Friday night from 6:30-8 p.m. There, a number of Mennofolk musicians will join the Cottonwood Jam String Band to play at a contra dance on the university library lawn.
Bluffton University will sell tickets to an outdoor barbecue and those attending can eat on the lawn (bring chairs if needed).
This event is free and open to the public and will be followed by a concert by the Anabaptist Bestiary Project in Yoder Recital Hall.
Saturday at noon the Kansas Bible Company will also play an outdoor concert between Yoder Hall and Hershey Dorm. A picnic lunch will be for sale, though no seating will be provided.
On Sunday the public is invited to join the Mennofolk Festival at no charge for a gospel brunch at 10 a.m. in the Bluffton town hall.
The brunch features an a la carte menu by Jonah Agner featuring quiche with local meat and veggies, fruit, homemade doughnuts, and vegan/gluten free options.
