Bluffton High School graduate, Lindsay Steiner, this winter was awarded the Stephen P. Witte Fellowship at Kent State University, where she is a doctoral candidate.
The competitive fellowship is awarded annually to two Rhetoric and Composition doctoral candidates in the Literacy, Rhetoric and Social Practice program of the English Department at Kent State University.
Several area fire departments responded to a late afternoon fire at 10100 Lincoln Highway on March 26. Departments and EMS included Bluffton, Beaverdam-Richland, Ada-Liberty and Lafayette-Jackson. Lincoln Highway was closed to traffic at Pevee Road and and other intersecting road.

Little-known fact: Most of the marketing efforts of the Freed Center for the Performing Arts at Ohio Northern University take place in Bluffton.
That's because, Anita Cook, independent contractor and marketing manager of the Center, lives in Bluffton. She creates most of her work from the office in her home on North Main Street, located just north of Groves Quality Collectibles.
Owner of Maestro Graphics, Cook is a freelance graphic artist, and her work with The Freed Center is one of the many multi-tasking positions she balances quite well.
