Cindy Basinger of Backyard Perennials and More, 9745 N. Phillips Road, announced a spring open house for her business.

The open house is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, April 21, and Saturday, April 28.

May business hours are Tuesday to Friday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. Basinger is at the Bluffton farmers' market on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to noon.

Baackyard Perennials has a selection of annuals, herbs, perennials, shurubs, trees, vegetables, hanging baskets and other garden products.

Digging Dixie

Sanitary sewer lines were installed recently on the east side of the Dixie Highway. Now the installation is underway on the west side. This view is from Southgate Lanes looking north. Watch for a video.

The Children's Choirs of St. John Mennonite Church, Pandora, will present "The Amazing Grace Race," on Sunday, April 22, at 11 a.m. and again at 6 p.m. Both performances are at the church, 15988 Road 4, Pandora.

The musical involves 70 children from the Bluffton/Pandora area from age 4 to grade 5. The musical tells the story of runners Annie, Riley, Jake, Bella, Claire, and Spud as they follow the direction of their coach and run the "Race of Life."

Rev. Dr. Matthew Zuehlke of the Bluffton Presbyterian Church will conduct a Blessing of the Animals on the Presbyterian church lawn at 2 p.m., Sunday, April 22, in celebration of Earth Day. All creatures great and small are welcome.

The Impressions, the award-winning show choir of Cory-Rawson High School, will present Cabaret 2012 at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 27 and 28 in the Cory-Rawson Auditorium.

Tickets are adults $7 and students $5 and may be purchased at the door both Friday and Saturday evenings.

Cabaret 2012 is the end-of-the-year performance and celebration of the talented members of the Impressions and Stingers - award winning back-up combo for the Impressions.
