Work on the Augsburger Road sanitary sewer project will limit travel on Augsburger Road on Tuesday, Jan. 24, according to Jamie Mehaffie, village administrator.

Augsburger Road will be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. while the sewer work extends across the road from the north side to the south side of the road, according to Don Snyder Excavating, who is handling the project.

Persons in the Riverbend area will be able to access their residences from the village (east side) of Augsburger. No traffic will be permitted from the west side into the village during the day.

Construction moving along

Laura Voth, chief operating officer of Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio, checked out the progress of the Green House construction project across from Maple Crest Senior Living retirement communities on Friday. Construction is moving at a rapid pace.

After being idle for 48 days, the Bluffton men's and women's indoor track and field team showcased their hard work at the 2012 Northwest Ohio Invitational, hosted by the University of Findlay on Friday, Jan. 20. Division I, II, and III teams from the region competed in the unscored meet.

The Bluffton University men pulled off a big win Saturday in a 62-56 victory over visiting Rose-Hulman. The Beavers upped their record to 11-6 (5-5 HCAC), while Rose-Hulman dipped to 13-4 (7-3 HCAC).

Somewhere in our attic is a dark green Girl Scout sash, but since it belongs to daughter number 1, it's been packed away carefully in her recently reorganized "corner" and I've been ordered NOT to mess it up.

But a quick search through my husband's box of family "heirlooms", I located an old green Girl Scout dress that belonged either to his sister or mom. The label reads "Girl Scouts Trademark Official Uniform".
