Dr. Earl Lehman's recent death drew our attention to this photo. It is an early 1950s-era Bluffton High School operetta. Lehman, in the front center, was the director.

We see many familar faces here. For example: Dick Boehr on drums, Ada May Oyer on bass, Wilma Jean Jorg on piano, and, yes, Sam Diller on the stage.

After several technical delays Bluffton's North Dixie Highway annexation has finally landed on the Allen County Commissioner's lap.

The commissioners plan a hearing on the matter at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 4, in the third floor of the Allen County Court House.

The annexation process has not be a smooth one due to the techical delays and objections of somes residents in the area under consideration.

October is a busy month for the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center. Here are some of the activities planned. The monthly dinner meeting is at 6 p.m., Monday, Oct. 10, catered by the Mt. Cory United Methodist Church.

Other events follow:

BFR will hold a Kids Fun Night from 6 to 9 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 15, according to Carole Enneking, BFR director.

The evening includes an outdoor pumpkin hunt, games, pizza, flashlight tag and similar games.

It is open to youth from kindergarten to fifth grade. Cost is $10 for members and $20 for non-members.

Persons must register youth by Oct. 11. A limit of 40 youth will be accepted.
