Katie Prater, first team district; Libby Schaadt, second team district

Bluffton High School junior Averey Rumer has been named second team All Ohio in softball for the 2018 season. The shortstop led the Pirates in batting average at .625 and stolen bases with 19.  

Katie Prater, a junior, received first team district honors and Libby Schaadt, a sophmore, was named to the second team. Prater batted .469, hit 8 doubles, 3 home runs and drove in 28 runs. 

Will hold a Master of Arts in Christian Formation with concentration in Christian Spirituality

Jeff Boehr of Bluffton participated in the May 6 commencement service of Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary (AMBS), Elkhart, Ind.

He anticipates graduating in December 2018 with a Master of Arts in Christian Formation with a concentration in Christian Spirituality. His future plans are pending in the area of retirement community pastoral care or chaplaincy; he is also open to congregational pastoral work.

Boehr, who previously earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business and Accounting from Bluffton University, is a member of First Mennonite Church in Bluffton.

Barbecue, dodge ball, obstacle course, meet summer camp counselors, door prizes

Bluffton Family Recreation, 215 Snider Road, plans a Community Day Tuesday, May 22, according to Daniel Tinch, BFR executive director. All events are open to the public.

Events include:
• Bubba C BBQ, outside for dinner, 3 to 7 p.m.
• Dodge ball open games, 3 to 5:30 p.m.
• Meet summer camp counselors, 5:30 to 7 p.m.
• Knockout tournament, 6 p.m.
• Kids’ obstacle course, 3 to 7 p.m. in the area
• TRX demonstration, 7 p.m.
• Outdoor games on BFR lawn
• WFIN radio will be at BFR from 3 to 7 p.m.

(FINDLAY) - Several Pirate individuals and relay teams advanced to the OHSAA regional meet in Tiffin. The boys team placed fifth and the girls seventh at the district meet. 

Moving on to regionals are :
